SF Beer Week Celebrates 10 Years Feb. 9-18, 2018

For the tenth time, the Greater Bay Area and visitors from around the world will gather to celebrate all things craft beer during SF Beer Week, from Friday, February 9, through Sunday, February 18, 2018.

More so than ever before, this installment of the annual festivities shines a light on the independent spirit of the creative community of beer makers, venue hosts and ever-more attentive beer drinkers.

Organized in 2009 to celebrate America’s first craft beer drinking region, SF Beer Week was conceived to highlight local festivals and to extend beer awareness into more Bay Area restaurants, bars and bottle shops.

Craft beer is no longer an under-appreciated curiosity and, over the years, SF Beer Week has emerged as a prestigious Bay Area gathering of the region’s vibrant craft beer community. Starting with 140 events in 2009, last year’s SF Beer Week topped 900 in venues from Santa Cruz to Sonoma.

The SF Beer Week Opening Gala — featuring over 100 celebrated Northern California breweries that make the Bay Area an internationally renowned craft beer destination — is set for Friday, February 9, with subsequent Beer Week events, ranging from Santa Cruz past Santa Rosa, running through February 19.

Dozens of local brewing legends – as well as the latest round of bold new talent shaking up the scene – will pour flavor-driven innovations and timeless classics at this signature festival on the SF Bay waterfront. Rare beers, unique multi-brewery collaborations and near-legendary seasonal favorites provide the primary attractions. Tickets to the SF Beer Week Opening Gala go on sale November 30.
