Ready, Set, Go!

It’s that time of the year! The SF Beer Week website is now accepting event submissions.

Get events in now — and on people’s schedules early!

sfbw17_2018_dates_20170211_citybeer_SFBW_SignSF Beer Week is a cherished beer-cation and craft beer lover’s destination. Friends come into town annually, and many have to plan that trip in advance. Getting your events submitted early means getting them in front of the tens of thousands who visit the Bay Area during SF Beer Week site right when they are planning their trip — as well as enjoying maximum early impact by being part of the event schedule launch on November 30.

Ride that first heavy wave of promotion by getting your events submitted by EOD on November 28. After that, events will be published as they’re approved (with no guarantees that will be by site launch).

See the updated Event Guidelines for requirements and best practices as well as detailed information on event listing options (“unique” vs. “week-long special”). Submission rules have been updated to maintain the focus on independent craft beer, something previously promoted but now being more fully enforced. Make sure your event meets these guidelines before submitting.

Get that event up on that thing!

1) Review the 2018 Event Guidelines.

2) Log In – Click “Log In” (or go right to “Create Event”) in the top left corner, or click “Register” to create a new account. If you log in with an old account, you can access your 2017 events, edit for dates and other changes, and resubmit them for 2018. If you can’t remember your password, use the reset option.

3) Click “Create Event” – Past events are in the left panel, if applicable, and the Event Submission Form in the right. Simply fill out the form to submit a 2018 event. To resurrect and modify past submissions, click the “Renew” or “Duplicate” button beneath an event title, change details, then click “Submit” at the bottom to enter it as a new event.

4) Pay for Listing – Upon clicking “Submit,” a pop-up will request payment information. If you are signed up as an SFBW sponsor, enter your sponsor code in that field to bypass the payment step, and to set up your featured events. (Interested in sponsoring? Download the kit here.)

** NEW ** You can now save an event as Draft, and pay for your events later. Note: Events must be paid for before they can be processed for approval.

Please allow up to five business days for your event to be reviewed and processed. We try to approve events within 24-48 hours, however, influxes of submissions and other circumstances can cause delays. Please be patient.

Once approved, and the event schedule is live (November 30), your event will appear on the SF Beer Week website. Remember, get your events in now to be on the schedule when it launches.

Important Reminders:

— Only event hosts (such as bars, cafes, taprooms, nonprofits, etc.) can submit and pay for events. Breweries and distributors cannot submit and pay for events on behalf of retail licensed accounts, in accordance with CA Dept. of Alcoholic Beverage Control regulations.

— Independent craft breweries and their products, or nonprofit/educational homebrewing, should be the main focus of an event. See the 2018 Event Guidelines for details

— SF Beer Week is a curated list. Events may only be edited for material changes once submitted (eg. changing a start time). Please proofread for spelling, tone, etc. carefully. To make a change, log in, edit the event, then resubmit it for update and approval.

— Planning on submitting a lot of events? Consider an SF Beer Week sponsorship. Sponsors at all levels come with generous event submission packages, Gala participation, and a wealth of perks for raising the profile of your company and events. There are a limited number of sponsorships available, and spots won’t last long. Contact us for more information. We looking forward to assisting you in spreading the word about your events.

Fans, get ready, too!
