Russian River Brewing Company was established in 1997 by Korbel Champagne Cellars among the majestic redwoods in West Sonoma County. After 6 years, Korbel decided to get out of the beer business and agreed to transfer the brand and all recipes to their head brewer, Vinnie Cilurzo. Vinnie and his wife, Natalie, were excited to pursue their passion for craft beer together and opened their first brewpub in Santa Rosa in April 2004.

Vinnie and I stopped by the Sonoma County Museum this weekend to check out their new exhibit “On Tap” and really enjoyed it! This well-curated exhibit features many interesting stories and artifacts of historical significance to the region including hop picking baskets, Grace Bros. Brewing and New Albion Brewery cases, bottles and cans, and even a bottle of Pliny the Younger! If you want to learn more about our regions rich hop growing and brewing history, the “On Tap” exhibit is running through September 1st at the Sonoma County Museum, 425 7th Street in Santa Rosa, an easy walk from our Downtown Santa Pub! @museumsc #sonomacountybeer #sonomacountyhops

And yesterday we attended the big check presentation by Garrett Oliver for the MJF Foundation to which we contributed again this year!
